Labours’ Liquor solution weak as piss

Clampdown on liquor sales looms
The Government has revealed tough measures to clamp down on liquor sales, including allowing councils to prevent outlets opening near schools and to limit opening hours. Prime Minister Helen Clark said yesterday the Cabinet had considered a raft of changes to liquor laws, including tougher controls on the supply of alcohol to young people and putting more restrictions on the location of off-licences. She said the Government had prepared legislation to build on Labour MP George Hawkins' private member's bill, which gives more community input into granting liquor licences.

This doesn’t go far enough! We need all booze out of Dairys and Supermarkets and strict zoning that doesn’t allow wholesalers to set up shop in suburban areas, while acknowledging that we have a problem with booze, Labours’ solution doesn’t go anywhere near confronting that reality.

Why don't you take that to it's logical conclusion Bomber. After all prohibition has worked wonderfully in days past hasn't it?

It might be usefull to check whether foodstuffs or progressive have made donations to Labour as well. If they haven't they probably should. Huge growth in booze sales for them if this goes through.

Bomber have you ever traveled and lived anywhere but NZ.

Go to Europe, the supermarkets there sell cheap wine, people buy it by the case, do you see filthy drunks - no.

Travel a bit and bleat bleat

Yawning ....yawning, why is it anon, in near most cases when things in this country go wrong, it's lets play the "compare this country with another game" is it likely that the govt at hand will make the changes needed for the better to stop what's happening? If we keep comparing this countries issue with another countries success, will it make the problem "get up and go away?" or is this "comparing country game" really to just fuel the hatred one has for troubled areas, because they don't live the way you like them to, in your own mind set or that little, blissful Utopia, you've created? I am really curious?

Its not the drink its the low-life people. Moving where they can buy the substances they abuse won't change them. They are fat filthy ignorant lazy pigs.

They abuse food, drink, drugs, money, women, children, cars - you name it these pigs abuse it.

Here you have some valid points, some are fat, some are lazy, some abuse kids and women, some take drugs and most of them drink... BUT are they all like that: just how many of them so called filthy ignorant lazy pigs do you know? I have seen wealthy men with kids and wives at home, while in after hours mens clubs, pissed out there fucking tree, drooling over a pair of 19 year old titties, while on 6th lap dance. Explain to me what's the difference, Is this guy a fat filthy pig too.. or just the people that live in South Auckland. I am curious?

But from my own experience, I know a guy that now lives in a state home in South Auckland, he's on the Invalids benefit 3-4 years, yet 3-4 years ago he had a job in the film & TV industry making $250+ dollars per day, he was looking at buying his first home in Mt Roskil, 8000.00 dollars saved towards his home. He lost everything, had a problem with his ears, Specialist Nurse wouldn't allow him to be seen by a Doctor, stated in her report, she didn't think he was acute enough..Gave him ear drops that cause puss and bleeding, end result he's Deaf now, lost his job, had to use the saving, lost his partner ... now on the benefit which pays his $57 dollars for his rent and gives him $100 to pay for power and telephone for the fax machine his only contact to outside world, oh food & he does counselling for depression and attempted suicide.

I am sure most of them have there own stories, How much about them do you know? or is looks enough.
