Honestly now, how fucking dumb are Americans?

U.S. public opinion shift detected
By Jennifer Harper
The Washington Times
Half of Americans now say Iraq had weapons of mass destruction when the United States invaded the country in 2003 -- up from 36 percent last year, a Harris poll finds. Pollsters deemed the increase both "substantial" and "surprising" in light of persistent press reports to the contrary in recent years.

The survey did not speculate on what caused the shift in opinion, which supports President Bush's original rationale for going to war. Respondents were questioned in early July after the release of a Defense Department intelligence report that revealed coalition forces recovered 500 aging chemical weapons containing mustard or sarin gas nerve agents in Iraq.

"Filled and unfilled pre-Gulf War chemical munitions are assessed to still exist," said Sen. Rick Santorum, Pennsylvania Republican, during a June 21 press conference detailing the newly declassified information.

Rep. Peter Hoekstra, chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, who shared the podium, said, "Iraq was not a WMD-free zone."

Meanwhile, the Harris poll offered some positive feedback on Iraq. Seventy-two percent of respondents said the Iraqi people are better off now than under Saddam Hussein's regime -- a figure similar to that of 2004, when it stood at 76 percent. In addition, 64 percent say Saddam had "strong links" with al Qaeda, up from 62 percent in October 2004. Fifty-five percent said that "history will give the U.S. credit for bringing freedom and democracy to Iraq."

.......................................HAHAHAHAHA, what they don't add is the 500 old chemical weapon shells they found, dated back to the Iran/Iraq war when America was supplying Iraq with chemical weapons - don't you love it? Supply Iraq with chemical weapons in the 1980s and then invade two decades later declaring, "YOU HAVE CHEMICAL WEAPONS"! Oh you right wingers with your crazy bullshit excuses - BTW 100 people are dying in Iraq each day at the moment, all those dead Iraqis must be so happy with their democracy.

..................................... Oh and this story is priceless

Lead Actor in United 93 Denied Visa !!!
The lead actor in the first 9/11 movie United 93, will be missing out on the movie premier during Tribeca Film Festival in New York next Tuesday, because the American Embassy is denying him a Visa!
The actor Lewis Al Samari is an Iraqi who has been living in England since 1995, and was granted asylum in 1998 and who is also about to apply for British citizenship, yet the American authorities are not very excited to let him in!

One hand helps, the other hand kills, it must make wiping your arse a dangerous thing. God bless america

Mr Bush risked the lives of young U.S. men and women to invade Iraq because he said the U.N. were liars and wrong and that there were weapons of mass destruction there; He was wrong, but most Americans don't seem to mind;

He said Saddam's secular socialistic regime had given help to the sunni fundamentalist fanatics in al-Qaeda; but nothing produced in Iraq in past 3 years suggests anything other than precisely the opposite of that, but most Americans don't seem to mind.

Mr Bush says the torture at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq was the work of a few stray, mad individuals; in fact, abuses were sanctioned at the highest levels of the executive branch - most Americans don't seem to mind.

Mr Bush said "very clearly" that all wiretaps of Americans were ordered pursuant to court warrants; in reality he was repeatedly reauthorizing warrantless wiretaps which violate Statute; most Americans don't seem to mind.

The Republican administration has asserted a "right" to imprison Americans as well as foreigners indefinitely without the habeas corpus hearings required by law; the Democrats say they would go further.

Every indication is that between them, Democrats & Republicans, they'll get about 98% of all votes to be cast in the next round of congressional elections.

You have to conclude that the American people are very understanding and tolerant of their Presidents and their Congressmen!
